Effluent Treatment Plant

An Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) : is a facility designed to treat wastewater—called effluent—that is generated by industrial processes. Unlike domestic sewage, industrial effluent often contains a wide range of harmful chemicals, heavy metals, oils, and other pollutants that can severely damage the environment if not properly treated.

Stages of Treatment :

• Preliminary Treatment – Removal of large particles and debris through screening and sedimentation.
• Secondary Treatment – Biological treatment using microorganisms to break down organic matter.

• Tertiary/Advanced Treatment – Chemical or physical processes to remove remaining contaminants, such as heavy metals or pathogens.
